Faculty Research Assistant in
Statistical Consulting
Department of Statistics,
The
Department of Statistics at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applicants
for a Faculty Research Assistant position providing statistical consulting to
university researchers. This is a
full-time, 12-month fixed-term position with renewal at the discretion of the
supervisor.
Required
qualifications include (1) Statistical
consulting experience and M.S. or higher degree in Statistics, (2) good
technical command of basic statistics, (3) familiarity with common statistical
programming languages, (4) effective oral and written communication skills and
(5) ability to organize and prioritize work.
Preferred qualifications include (1) familiarity with SAS and Splus/R,
(2) experience consulting with biological scientists, (3) experience
with the statistical aspects of clinical trials and (4) a demonstrable
commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Note that although
the position is full-time (1.0 FTE), the Department will consider requests for
reduced FTE (to 0.75).

minerals) and phytochemicals (chemicals from plants) in promoting optimum
health and preventing and treating disease; to determine the role of oxidative
and nitrative stress and antioxidants in human health and disease; and to
advance knowledge in areas that were of interest to Linus Pauling through
research and educational activities.
Major areas of research in the Institute encompass heart disease,
cancer, aging, and neurodegenerative diseases.
