When to Apply
Applications for admission to the Department of Statistics are considered at any time, but applicants desiring financial aid should apply by February 15 for admission the following Fall. Applications are only accepted for Fall term admission. For OSU information on deadlines for application see the Admissions Office when to apply page.
Applying for Admission
Application instructions, downloadable forms, and online application are available from the Admissions Office page. Please follow the instructions carefully. Note that the Department of Statistics requires three letters of reference along with the university application form, transcripts, and a letter of intent. GRE scores are optional but highly recommended for students seeking financial assistance.
Requirements for Admission
- single- and multi-variable calculus (approximately 4 quarters)
- a course in linear algebra
- one-year course in mathematical statistics
- at least one applied statistics course (preferred, not required)
